Origins are a significant issue for most thinking individuals and several options have emerged to frame the debate. Evolutionists typically frame the debate between (1) science and faith, (2) science and religion or (3) science and biblical creation. Framing the debate in this manner is biased from inception. By inference, anything opposed to science must be false. Young-Earth creationists traditionally frame the debate between creation and evolution. Genesis is currently interpreted within the framework of four main ideas: traditional young-Earth creation theology, gap theology, day-age theology and literary interpretations. Each scheme has its strengths and significant weaknesses. A key point of contention is the age of the heavens and Earth. Are they billions of years old or where they created in 4004 BC? The author presents a new translation of Genesis Chapters 1 and 2 based on the Hebrew text of the Old Testament. With a corrected translation as the starting point, Genesis easily agrees with solid scientific evidence in regard to time. The author leads the reader on a no-holds-barred search for truth which identifies: (1) Faulty ideas that have influenced teaching of the creation account for the past twenty-two hundred years. (2) An ancient document, accepted by most biblical scholars, that has hindered a proper explanation of the Genesis story. (3) Ten key verbs, improperly explained, which control traditional explanations of the seven-day creation chronicle. In a clear, step-by-step fashion the author strips away past error and develops a credible translation and explanation of the Genesis creation story.
