Ancient Footprints Place Humans in England Early in the Ice Age - AiG tackles the new report of ancient footprints, as previously covered by The Natural Historian in a pro-OEC article. AiG fails to answer the biggest reason these prints contradict YEC...that they are pre-Ice Age. AiG claims they are early Ice Age prints. To support this, there is one small reference:
“As well as the footprints, we have also found the remains of substantial numbers of animals, including 15 types of mammal and 160 different species of insect—as well as more than 100 types of plant,” says Simon Parfitt, whose area of expertise is Ice Age mammals. “This is allowing us to reconstruct, in considerable detail, the environment in which these early humans lived.”
True, this is an accurate quote. Two points...1) although Simon Parfitt is an expert in Ice Age mammals, Simon did not say anything related to the species found, and 2) as noted in the Natural Historian article, this site has long been popular to fossil collectors, who collect Ice Age fossils from the stratigraphic layers ABOVE the layer the footprints are in. Since these footprints are at sea level (see photo of prints), no lower stratigraphic layers have been explored for fossils. Therefore, at this time, ALL Ice Age fossils found at this site are younger than the footprints in question. Whether there is anything below these footprints is unknown.

Unfortunately, early on in his Christian life, he fell under the influence of YEC's. A good YEC salesman can convince even the brightest people that their unscientific YEC theory is true.
