D124:  The Ica Stones prove that man and dinosaurs coexisted

Argument:  These stones collected near the village of Ica in Peru depict supposedly ancient drawings of humans and dinosaurs

Response: 

 

1. The stones were created by local villagers to sell to tourists (see Talk Origins link below

2. Even if it was real rock art painted by primitive peoples, it cannot be taken seriously for scientific proof.  The drawings are probably nothing more than an fictional beast imagined by the artist

3. Using the same logic, I could paint pictures of three-headed aliens on some rocks, bury them for 1,000 years, and when they are dug up, the finders would claim that they are proof of three-headed aliens
