E101: If humans descended from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

Argument:
Many young earth creationists make the claim that if humans descended from monkeys, then there should no longer be monkeys, since they evolved into humans.

Evolutionists do not claim that humans descended from monkeys. They claim that humans and monkeys descended from a common ancestor

Even if humans did evolve from monkeys, this does not mean that monkeys would go extinct. The parent species could continue on as a separate species.
