Argument:
It has been estimated that there are 100 billion tons of offshore oil, and 5 million tons seeps into the ocean each year. At this rate, it would only take 20,000 years for all the oil to seep into the ocean.

The 100 billion estimate is for recoverable oil (a tiny fraction of all oil). This oil is capped by impermeable layers, trapping it in its reservoir. The 5 million tons that seeps into the ocean is not capped by impermeable layers, as it is able to seep into the ocean
