Evaporite deposits show no evidence of association with hydrothermal activity
If Morris' claim is true, then we should be able to observe this process today. However, hydrothermal systems observed today are not depositing any salt
Evaporites show evidence of being open to the air, such as footprints, dessication cracks, and raindrop impressions. Morris' system is completely underground
