Argument:
The oldest living thing is younger than 4,900 years (a Bristlecone pine). This is proof that the flood wiped out all plant and animal life several thousand years ago

Tree rings give an unbroken record back more than 11,000 years. A worldwide flood would have destroyed this record

The age of the oldest living thing does not date the ages of events that happened prior to 4,900 years

It merely means that no global catastrophe happened within the last 4,900 years
