The 4 January 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments discusses the inchworm.
The author tells about what happens in the encounter of a predator with camouflage encounters a prey with camouflage. The predator is a yellow crab spider, and the prey an inchworm. As the story unfolds, the inchworm goes unnoticed by the spider. They say that "Our wisdom would have said that the inchworm should try to run when he noticed the spider. However, the wisdom given to him by the Creator allowed him to continue about his business on the flower. This offers us a good illustration of how following the Lord's wisdom often requires us to reject our own."
This story gives us a good object lesson, as stated by the Creation Moments author. However, it has nothing to do with the creation debate (the author only barely touches upon creation).
As Christians we should thank God for creating such a diverse number of creatures, that all interact with each other in interesting ways, from which we can learn lessons. However, this claim is typical of Creation Moments claims. It is strictly a "God of the Gaps" type emotional argument (this is wonderful...God must have done it). Presenting such an argument in defense of creation is a pointless exercise in futility...it will strengthen those who already believe, but will do nothing to argue for your position with the atheist or old earth creationist.
