The Insect with Two Brains

     The 23 January 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments discusses the caterpillar/moth brain.

     When a caterpillar transforms into a moth, it is a complete transformation, with the brain changing completely.  That's nice to know, but it doesn't mean a thing for the creation debate.  I agree that it is a marvelous process, and we should praise God for this wonderful transformation.  However, secular scientists have studied this process thoroughly, and using it as evidence of design is an exercise in futility.  They will not be impressed with this emotional argument.    

     As Christians we should thank God for all of his creation.  However, as is typical of Creation Moments claims, this is strictly a "God of the Gaps" type argument.  Presenting such an argument in defense of creation is a pointless exercise in futility...it will strengthen those who already believe, but will do nothing to argue for your position with the atheist or old earth creationist.
