Mapping Intelligence

     The 27 January 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments discusses the process of thought maps.

     The authors relate how humans and animals have thought maps...they remember the location of things, and can find them from the mental picture that they have stored.

     This is nice to know, but has nothing to do with creation.  The authors claim that this feature could not have evolved...it had to be present in the first animal.  Why?  There is no problem with thought maps developing...they are merely learning from past experiences...you remember where you were.  This can be a learned behavior, and not one based on instinct.

     As Christians we should thank God for how our brains work.   However, as is typical of Creation Moments claims, this argument boils down to an emotional one, or a "God of the Gaps" type argument.  Presenting such an argument in defense of creation is a pointless exercise in futility...it will strengthen those who already believe, but will do nothing to argue for your position with the atheist or old earth creationist.
