The Deceptive Eye

     The 15 February 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments discusses the human eye.

     The Creation Moments author tells of our eye, and how the brain fills in the spot from our blind spot.  He also tells that this blind spot is responsible for us missing our own typographical errors.  They even use a quote from Charles Darwin, where he says the eye forming from natural selection seems absurd.

     The Darwin eye quote is taken out of context, for later on, Darwin explains how the eye could have evolved.  Answers in Genesis lists this quote from Darwin as an argument that creationists should not use (see Arguments we think creationists should NOT use.)

     As Christians we should thank God for our eyes.   However, as is typical of Creation Moments claims, this is strictly a "God of the Gaps" type argument.  Presenting such an argument in defense of creation is a pointless exercise in futility...it will strengthen those who already believe, but will do nothing to argue for your position with the atheist or old earth creationist.
