Flood Legends

The 19 July 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments claims the many flood legends around the globe support the story of Noah's Flood (global flood).
The author mentions that there are some 270 flood stories from various cultures around the globe. These flood stories are said to have a common source in the global flood of Noah. While I agree that these flood legends do indeed have a common source, this presents no problem for the old earth creationist.
Old earth creationists also believe in the flood of Noah, and in the spreading of the peoples from the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). The flood legends work just as well for old earth creationists.
Both old earth and young earth creationists can have common ground in this argument for a biblical flood.
