Corals and Evolution

     The 21 July 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments claims that corals support the biblical story of creation (young earth implied).

     The author claims that corals are complex creatures, even as far back as 500 million years in the fossil record.  And, the corals that we see back then are the same ones that we have today...they haven't changed in 500 million years!

     However, this is merely a young earth trick, and misuse of the theory of evolution.  Evolution clearly allows for the "stasis" of life forms.  There is no problem for life forms to remain the same over millions of years of time.  Just because a life form has remained the same over millions of years does not mean that the young earth theory of creation is true.

        Theistic evolutionists can rest assured that corals present no problem to their belief.  For old earth progressive creationists, the same is true.  Since you do not believe in evolution, we merely have God creating the corals over 500 million years ago, and they remained the same until today.
