Do Creationists Believe in Natural Law?

This question was published in Dr. John's Q&A by John Morris in September 1998.  Morris claims that "creationists and evolutionists are in 100 percent agreement concerning the role of natural law in the universe's operation."   I would agree with this statement.  Morris' introductory paragraphs for this topic are accurate and need no rebuttal.

Morris says that both creation and evolution cannot be observed.  I disagree.  Astronomers see creation in action when they study the past, as they are looking at events of the past.  They observe the cosmic background radiation, a direct result of the Big Bang, God's first creative event.

One term I liked that Morris used is the "magic wand of supernaturalism."  Morris may not be guilty of it, but most creationists are.  What I am referring to is that when something is unexplained naturally, creationists wave their "magic wand of supernaturalism" to answer the question of why something is.  Some old earth creationists are guilty of demanding naturalistic answers for everything.  I do not believe that we should seek a natural answer to everything, as there obviously is a place for the supernatural in creation.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
