In an article on the Creation, Dinosaurs
and the Flood website, young earth creation science advocate Charlie Liebert
explains that evolution is a part of the young earth creation science model.1

What he is referring to is microevolution. For example, although he claims
only one pair of dog-kind would be on the ark, after they were let off the
ark, they have experienced microevolution, to produce the different species
we have today (wolf, coyote, dog, etc). While I agree that this is needed
for the young earth model to work, it is obviously an argument from need,
and not from evidence. They need this microevolution for their flood model
to work, whether or not the evidence backs it up is another matter, and will
be dealt with in another article.

One other statement needs challenging. Liebert says about macroevolution,
"These kinds of broad changes NEVER happen in nature." This may be true, but
we cannot be dogmatic about it. He should say "These kinds of broad changes
have never been observed in nature." Evolutionists say they happened, and
the fossil record appears to show this, despite the lack of transitional
fossils at every level. These changes take hundreds of thousands, or
millions of years, thus it is obvious that we have never observed one.
However, since Liebert, and the rest of us, are not all-knowing as God is,
we cannot be certain that they have not happened in nature.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth. Are you a Christian who believes in young earth creationism? Now that we have shown the many difficulties of the young earth creation science model in this and many other articles, how does this impact your Christian life? If you are a young earth creationism believer, click here.
