Does Astronomy Confirm a Young Universe? - This daily feature is a reprint from the New Answers Book 3. If astronomy did confirm a young universe, scientists would all believe in a young universe...they don't. Arguments include moon recession, comets, faint young sun paradox, rapid star aging, and spiral galaxies. None of these issues point to a young earth. There are solutions for moon recession, comets, the faint young sun paradox, and rapid star aging (which is based on Sirius). Astronomers have proposed theories for spiral galaxies. Just because we don't fully understand how some things work, does not mean that the opposite (a young universe) is true.
