In a rare move, this article on the Answers in Genesis site has been removed. It says "The information (from a secular source) in this 1979 article is fallacious."
I applaud AiG for removing this article, but I wish young earth creationists would do this to all their material which is obviously dated.
For instance, the initial book which started the modern young earth movement, The Genesis Flood, by Henry Morris and John Whitcomb, is full of untruths, and they know it. For example, the Paluxy River footprints contained in the book are now said to be false by ICR, Morris' organization). However, you can go to their website, and purchase a brand new copy of this book.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.
