Is the Big Bang Biblical?

Question #4.  Is the God of Theistic Evolutionists the Same?

     Does believing in evolution change the nature of God?  Who better to understand the nature of God than perhaps the most visible, well-known Christian of our time, Billy Graham.  Graham says no.  It does not matter what you believe about the creation...it does not change man's relationship to our creator.  For more, see Billy Graham.

     Morris however believes that it does change the nature of God.  As proof, he offers several points.  First, the issue of the creation being "very good" is used.  This was already addressed as Question 3 of this review, and it offers no proof of a changed nature of God.  Morris poses several emotional questions, like "Was He not powerful enough?", answered in the article A Weak God?, and "Why did He wait so long?", which is an issue of time, answered in this article. 

     Morris asks why God would use "survival of the fittest."  He ties this to personal works as a method of salvation.  We all understand that salvation is only through Christ, so this is just empty rhetoric.  Evolution is not seen as a method of salvation through works, and such a comparison is ridiculous.

     Morris claims that "the righteous God revealed in Scripture would create just as described in Genesis 1."  I agree, since you can see evolution in action in Genesis 1, if you so choose to.  Morris says creation would be orderly and wise...there is no reason why theistic evolution cannot be orderly and wise. 

    After describing God's creating via the young earth interpretation, he concludes "Now that scenario is compatible with the nature of God, as revealed in His word."  Theistic evolution is also compatible with God's nature...just ask Billy Graham!  Morris has given no valid reasons to doubt this.
