Atheistic evolutionists, who operate strictly within the confines of natural science, argue that miracles violate these laws of science, and thus they are not possible. Morris does a good job of answering the mail on this issue. I see no reason why the Creator of the world cannot violate the laws that He created, if He so chooses.
Old earth creationists recognize the miracles that are in the Bible. Thus, this issue has no implications for the age of the earth debate.
If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.
