Question #76. Is Creation one of the Traditional Values?

In this article, Morris relates what traditional values are.  Things such as a heterosexual marriage, lasting for life, premarital chastity, the sanctity of human life, and freedom of religion.  In these matters there is no debate from me.

Morris then argues that these traditional values are a direct result of the Creator, and can be seen in the book of Genesis.  I wholeheartedly agree with this statement.  Fortunately, Morris makes no claims here about the age of the earth, so old earth creationists, including evolutionary creationists, can agree with his words.

Creationism did not become an issue in the church until the last 200 years.  For 1800 years, creation was not a traditional value, and now it is only a traditional value according to young earth creationists.

Morris ends this discussion with an encouragement to vote for candidates which support the traditional values.  I second this encouragement.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
